Creative Painting in Las Vegas Feb. 27th to Mar. 6th, 2011

The Convention was great and I had a fabulous time. I enjoyed the lovely classes that I took. Carol was a great roommate and we shopped till we dropped, as well as painted. I also made many new friends during the convention. These are some of the paintings that I did. I still have one more to finish before posting. It's called Boats in the harbour.

DTC ~Black & White Swap

This is the BEAUTIFUL Black & White DTC that I received from Sue Rhodes in D.A.I.C. I absolutely love it and she did it on scratch art paper and slightly colored the eye in greenish blue. I'm going to frame it and put it in my office.
The one I did for Sue Beckerton is at the right (Zentangle).

Lacy Floral

This is one of my favorite pieces that I designed to teach at a convention in 2006. I used it on several hand made cards and the background is a very pale pink. The wood piece is from Coyote Woodworks in Ontario Canada.

Roses & Lilacs

This is a piece that I designed and taught at the Paint in Alberta Convention in Calgary a few years ago. It was so much fun to see how everyone developed their skills in the class.

My PDU Exchange Gift

These area my Gifts to Cathy B. in the Paint Down Under Journal or Diary Exchange. The one with the giraffe is an address book with a velvety cover and I used So Soft fabric paints. The Diary is a plastic cover and I sealed it and then painted the design (which I adapted from a Willow Wolfe pattern). I used Traditions Acrylics. Then varnished it with Final Coat. It turned out to be a really nice finish. I wasn't sure how it would adhere to the plastic but it stuck really well. I added a Canada scarf and a key chain from Saskatchewan.
